Whenever you sell anything these days it seems like you need to protect yourself with a bill of sale. This especially holds true if you sell bigger items like used vehicles or anything that might require being titled or taxed. The ultimate solution would be a bill of sale template that was custom tailored to your business. At the top you could have your business logo and all the pertinent information. Below that you would have spaces for the rest of the information that are easily filled out right on your computer. You can then save a copy for your records and print one out for each customer. Not only does this look more professional, it helps your bookkeeper settle up at the end of the week and keep an eye on your inventory at the same time.
